India makes history by qualifying for Valorant World Cup: How can we win?

India has done it. For the first time ever, Team India has qualified for the Esports Nations Cup 2026 in Valorant – the esports equivalent of football’s World Cup – through a long and difficult road. It did not come via a wildcard invitation or the safety net of VCT points. The qualification process was tough, as there were nine countries competing in the Asia Qualifier brackets for two spots, and it was a team that did not falter in the face of such a challenge. The team put together by NODWIN Gaming secured second place in the Asia Qualifier brackets behind Japan, having dispatched Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, and Hong Kong in the process.

The Roster

India’s team has Sagnik “Hellf” Roy at its core, who is one of the most veteran VALORANT players India has seen so far. He has played competitively for years on end, in games such as Counter-Strike, and that tactical acumen shows in all servers he plays in. The team has been built by NODWIN around their best player and features a unique characteristic of an Indian team – chemistry. Hellf, Hoax, Venka, Techno, and Karam1L have played in winning combinations before, taking Predator League India 2026 championship under S8UL Esports.

The team has not been built on a sheet of paper. This team knows how the other player thinks and what his timing is, and it might prove crucial in the tournament that gives little time for preparation.

How India Can Win

Practically, India isn’t entering Riyadh as a favorite nation. Other nations like South Korea, China, and Brazil would be entering with players who could be called VCT Champions caliber players. India doesn’t necessarily have to be the best in the world for them to get anything out of this event.

The key to success would be structure. Hellf’s credentials as an IGL are the first stepping stone – if he can predict the opponents’ weaknesses quickly, India can take maps from teams which they shouldn’t even be able to touch. Venka can keep up with duelists from around the world individually. India has plenty of experience among themselves – this should help them not fall apart under pressure unlike some other national teams.

Dark horse? You bet. Contenders? No doubt about that.
