Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S20 series of phones at February’s Galaxy Unpacked event.

New report suggests that the Galaxy S20 Ultra might feature up to 16GB RAM

It is also rumoured to pack a custom 108MP main camera sensor

Samsung is hosting its Galaxy unpacked event on February 11 where it’s expected to unveil the next generation of ‘S’ series phones. As per the reports and rumours making rounds on the internet, the South-Korean smartphone manufacturer could rename the upcoming Galaxy S11 series to Galaxy S20. Three handsets are expected to be announced under the new lineup, including the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and the S20 Ultra. A couple of new reports about the Galaxy S20 Ultra have now surfaced online, hinting at a notably powerful camera setup and insane amount of memory.

Starting with the leaked information about the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s camera setup, a report by MySmartPrice suggests that the handset will sport a quad-camera configuration. While four cameras on the back of a smartphone is barely exciting news, the S20 Ultra is advertised to sport a 108MP image sensor that is custom manufactured for Samsung. The main sensor will be accompanied by an ultrawide camera, a 3D ToF depth sensor and a periscopic camera that can click photos with up to 100x hybrid zoom, the report claims. Currently, Huawei P30 Pro is capable of 50x hybrid zoom, while Vivo X30 can go up to 60x zoom.

The report of the Galaxy S20 Ultra coming equipped with an ‘insane’ amount of memory comes via XDA‘s Max Weinbach, who recently posted some leaked images of the S20+ 5G. As per Weinbach’s tweet, the device will be made available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of storage options and could come in 12GB and 16GB RAM options. There could also be an SD card slot on the device with support for up to 1TB of storage expansion. Additionally, the presence of 108MP camera is reiterated and the info suggests there could also be a 48MP 10x optical and a 12MP ultra wide camera as well. The entire package could be backed by a 5000mAh battery that might support 45W fast charging, which is said to top up the device completely in 74 minutes.
