Bose CineMate 15 Review : A good upgrade for your TV speakers

Bose CineMate 15 Review : A good upgrade for your TV speakers
VERDICT:

You could put together a custom setup at the same price but you are unlikely to get the same ease of installation, compactness and features that the Bose CineMate 15 has to offer.

What it IS meant for however is enhancing your movie watching experience. And at this it excels. The upgrade you get over your 20W TV speakers is exponential. The Bose CineMate can be hooked up to your TV via optical, coaxial or RCA analog inputs. While the performance on analog was decent, it really shines on optical. The overall sound signature is warm and quite well suited for dialogue and thumpy bass or low-frequency rumbles. If you are expecting detail or sonic purity you won’t be getting it.

But when you are looking to only enhance your movie watching experience are you really looking for fidelity? Not really. The compactness of the soundbar is appealing. The soundstage it produces is quite something given its size. Quite a feat that this tiny bar produces room filling sound.

Is it worth the money? Well maybe you could put together a custom setup at the same price but you are unlikely to get the same ease of installation, compactness and features. For example the remote – it truly is universal. Works with almost every TV/Set top box you throw at it. Hook it up to a TV and you’re good.
