Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup to use Flex Titanium display tech for a less noticeable crease: Here is what we know
Flex Titanium makes foldable screens stronger and thinner.
It helps reduce the screen crease and improves durability.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 series will be the first to use this technology.
Samsung has recently introduced a new display technology for its upcoming Galaxy foldable smartphones. The technology is called Flex Titanium and is expected to make the foldable screens stronger, slimmer and more comfortable to use. According to the company, it solves one of the biggest issues of the foldable device, which is the visibility of the crease. Flex Titanium is said to combine new materials with a redesigned display structure to improve both performance and reliability. Follow along with the article below to learn everything about the Flex Titanium technology.
SurveyWhen compared to the current foldable screens, the biggest change is that the new technology uses two titanium-based components inside the display. These include a titanium alloy film placed below the OLED panel and a titanium plate that supports the display from underneath. When working together, they improve the balance between flexibility, strength and a slim design of the foldable device.

According to Samsung, the titanium alloy film offers mechanical stiffness that is 20 times greater than polymer film. At the same time, it remains extremely thin through a precision rolling process, measuring about one third the thickness of an average human hair. This helps maintain a sleek display without making the device thicker.

The titanium plate also plays an important role. Samsung says it uses advanced hole processing technology to remove air gaps between the display module and the adhesive. This creates better support for the display when it is fully open while allowing it to fold smoothly over repeated use.
The company has also introduced a high-resolution display architecture along with new organic materials that reduce power consumption. Samsung says this combination improves power efficiency while maintaining bright and vivid visuals.

Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP and Head of Mobile Display Product Development Team at Samsung Display, added that the new titanium structure delivers flexibility along with strong durability. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are said to be the first devices to come with this technology.
