Samsung One UI 8.5 update beta 3: What’s new

As per the reports, the update focuses on fixes, including the lock screen clock glitches, problems with favourites in the Phone app, and a bug that prevented Now Briefing from appearing. Additionally, the new beta update also brings improved gallery performance when using Live Effects, reducing excessive battery drain caused by specific apps, and improving the visibility of the search option on the widget selection screen.

In addition to these fixes, the update bundles the January 2026 security patch, although Samsung has not yet shared detailed information about the vulnerabilities addressed.

Interestingly, while this is the third beta release globally, it will be treated as the second beta build in some regions, including India, where the rollout began later. Samsung is expected to expand availability to more countries in the coming days as beta testing continues ahead of the stable release.
