LUXA2 Groovy Bluetooth Speaker Review : Elegant, stylish and a decent performer
VERDICT:

If style and elegance is what you're looking for the Luxa2 Groovy will not disappoint you. At this price point you can certainly get better performing speakers like the JBL Flip II (with NFC) or the HMDX Jam Party, but they’re definitely not as chic and easy on the eyes as the Groovy.

The Luxa2 Groovy portable speaker looks really nice as it is. To add to the charm it comes with a genuine leather strap. The strap can be replaced to “suit your mood” and a complimentary black strap is provided in the bundle.

The box and speaker

The all-aluminium body is not only sturdy, it’s also quite eye-catching. The front grille is made of a muted grey fibre with the Luxa2 logo displayed vertically, off-centre. The base has four rubber feet that do keep it firmly anchored most of the time. You will see the speaker “walking” in cases of extreme reverb though.

How does it perform?

For one thing it’s quite loud for its size. The tuning of the two transducers is slanted towards highs so what you get are shrill peaks and a decidedly bright sound signature. Mids are subdued and bass, while present is not all that great. The sound starts distorting as you near the 100% volume mark. At this price point you can certainly get a better performing speaker like the JBL Flip II (with NFC) or the HMDX Jam Party, but they’re definitely not as chic and groovy as the Groovy.

The matte grey grille looks quite nice
