Vivo V80

Vivo officially launched the V80 5G in India on October 6, 2026, at its "Vivo Next 2026" event, where it was joined by the Vivo X Fold 6, the Vivo S2 FE, and a new Vivo VR headset. The V80 continues the V-series' focus on camera-first design, now built around Zeiss optics for the first time in this line, and arrives as Vivo's first phone in India to ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 out of the box. The Vivo V80 5G features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, reaching up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB configurations. The Zeiss-branded triple rear camera system leads with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom with its own OIS, supporting dedicated 85mm and 100mm focal lengths for portraits. A 50MP selfie camera rounds out the imaging hardware. The phone is built around a 7,200mAh battery — the largest ever fitted to a V-series phone in India — with 90W FlashCharge wired charging. It carries an IP68 and IP69 rating, a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, and stereo speakers, backed by over 30 AI-powered creative features including AI Diwali Portrait 2.0.

Final Verdict

The Vivo V80 5G delivers a genuinely premium camera experience with Zeiss optics and a true OIS telephoto lens, paired with the V-series' biggest-ever battery and a bright 144Hz display, all while undercutting the OPPO Reno 16 on price. It's a strong pick for buyers who prioritise photography and display quality, though the fixed 8GB RAM and steep jumps for higher storage are worth weighing against rivals before deciding on a variant.
