Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, two of India’s largest telecom operators, have revised their voice and SMS-only recharge plans. With these plans, the telecom companies aim to address the growing demands for standalone options, excluding data services. These revised plans come after new guidelines were shared by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). It strictly asked telecom providers to offer standalone voice and SMS packs. TRAI has further said that these new plans will be reviewed under existing regulatory provisions.

Jio’s revised voice and SMS-only plans
- Jio Rs 1,748 Plan: The Rs 1,748 plan that Jio offers is valid for 336 days now. With this users get unlimited voice calls and 3,600 free SMS. In addition to this, this plan provides access to JioTV, JioCinema (non-premium), and JioCloud. The effective cost of this comes down to Rs 5.20 per day.
- Jio Rs 448 Plan: The Rs 448 Plan that Jio offers is valid for 84 days and offers unlimited voice calls with 1000 SMS. In addition to this, users can also access JioTV, JioCinema (non-premium), and JioCloud. The effective cost of the same comes down to Rs 5 per day. Additionally, Jio has launched a Republic Day Offer 2025, bundling its Rs 3,599 annual plan with unlimited 5G access, 2.5GB daily data, and partner discounts from AJIO, Swiggy, and more.
Airtel’s revised voice and SMS-only plans
- Airtel Rs 1,849 Plan: The Airtel Rs 1,849 plan is valid for 365 days and offers unlimited voice calls with 3,600SMS. In addition to this, users get access to Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tune. The effective cost of this comes down to Rs 5.06 per day.
- Airtel Rs 469 Plan: Airtel’s Rs 469 plan is valid for 84 days and offers unlimited calls with 900 SMS. In addition to this, you get perks like Apollo 24/7 Circle membership and free Hello Tune. The effective cost of this comes down to Rs 5.58 per day.
