Aircel launches ‘Paanch ka Dum’ special voice plan in Andhra Pradesh
Aircel aims to grow its data and voice business in Andhra Pradesh with its new voice plan, priced at Rs. 5.
Aircel has launched a new voice plan for the Andhra Pradesh circle. Called the Paanch ka Dum, the new voice plan gives users option to select one of the voice benefits – community calling -5AM -5PM free, community calling – 1p/ 6 seconds, half paisa local calls, half paisa Local STD Call and ISD. The new plan is priced at Rs. 5.
To activate the new plan customers need to dial 15105. “We at Aircel believe in offering best value propositions for our subscribers and constantly innovate to provide the best quality and value for money services to the consumers. This product is intended for a consumer segment which is conscious about its budget and prefers smaller denominations. The low entry price and the options to select one of the 5 benefits is a first of its kind,” says Deepinder Tiwana, Circle Business Head – Andhra Pradesh, Aircel.
“Aircel has been the fastest growing operator in Andhra Pradesh in the 3rd quarter in 2013. In line with the company’s focus on data, Aircel Andhra Pradesh is on course to almost double its data revenues from 2012 to 2013. There has been a 50% jump in the data contribution to the overall revenues from December 2012 to September 2013,” he adds.

The 197 data plan is positioned as the smart choice for the smart devices segment, which includes the exploding tablet segment. Our innovative offerings in data have helped us double our data revenues in AP with almost 45% of our consumers using data,” says Bharath Mohan, Regional Marketing Head – South, Aircel.
Aircel’s new voice plan is quite similar Idea Cellular’s Choice Recharge plan that was recently launched for Delhi circle. Under the Choice Recharge plan, users have option to choose from four different options – 40 Local/STD mins, 150 Local Idea Night mins, 45 Local Mobile mins and 250 Local/STD SMS – from a single recharge of Rs. 25.
Aircel recently introduced a new range of tariff plans that aimed at unifying data tariffs for its 2G and 3G customers. The new data plans start at Rs. 27, which provides 7 days of unlimited 2G/3G data for 7 days. Aircel’s new monthly plans start at Rs. 128, which gives 2G and 3G users 1GB of data with a validity of 30 days.
