ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini launched in India, priced at Rs. 16999

ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini launched in India, features Snapdragon 615 SoC, 16 MP primary camera and Android 5.0.

Chinese handset maker ZTE has introduced its Nubia series in India. The new Nubia Z9 Mini smartphone is available in black color exclusively via ecommerce retailer Amazon India starting today. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 16,999.

ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini was unveiled in China in March this year. The smartphone has a 5-inch IPS CGS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. It is powered by an octa core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset along with 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card up to 128 GB. It has a 16 MP primary camera with LED flash and features like geo tagging, f/2.0 aperture, face detection, panorama view as well as an 8 MP front camera with an 80-degree wide viewing angle lens. Connectivity options included in the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini are dual-SIM with dual standby functionality, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. The smartphone has inbuilt accelerometer, proximity and compass sensor. It is backed by a 2,900 mAh battery that according to company claims delivers 43 hours of talk time and 600 hours of standby time. The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nubia UI on top. The smartphone is available via ecommerce retailer Amazon India and ZTE has limited that a user can only buy 3 units of this device at one time.

Commenting on nubia’s foray in to the Indian market, Mr. Yuan Kang, (CEO Terminal Sales South Asia), said “We are excited to be entering India. The smartphone will be competing with a range of Android smartphones including the Xiaomi Mi4i that launched last month for Rs 12,999 in India. ZTE is not the only Chinese smartphone vendor to enter the Indian market this week. Meizu has also entered the Indian market with the m1 Note which will be available exclusively via Amazon starting from May 20. The Meizu phone looks like the Apple's iPhone 5C and has a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a 64-bit octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. The smartphone has a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front camera.  However the handset runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS with a custom Flyme 4.0 UI on top. The Meizu m1 Note is backed by a 3,140mAh battery.
