YotaPhone price slashed again, now available for Rs. 8999 in India

YotaPhone targets the Indian budget consumer, receives a further price cut to Rs 8,999.

Dual screen YotaPhone which was launched in India for Rs 23,499 last year has received a major price cut. The smartphone is now available for Rs 8,999 on ecommerce retailer flipkart.com.

YotaPhone features a 4.3 inch HD screen with 1024 × 720 pixels display resolution. The smartphone also has a 4.3 inch e-ink display on its back side which shows notifications, events and other details. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The smartphone has a 13 MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash, HD video recording and a 2 MP front camera for video chatting. YotaPhone has inbuilt Accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor and ambient light sensors. Connectivity options included in the smartphone are 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and microUSB support. It is backed by an 1,800 mAh battery and runs on outdated Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean OS. The phone also has special YotaPhone gestures and Put2Back applications for the back screen.

The YotaPhone was launched in India in October last year for Rs. 23,499. Later the price of YotaPhone was slashed to Rs. 17,999, then Rs 12,999 and now the price has reduced further to just Rs 8,999. The company has also unveiled the YotaPhone 2 with a 5 inch AMOLED display and a 4.7 inch e-paper display in December last year. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has an 8MP rear camera, and is backed by a 2,500mAH battery. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The YotaPhone 2 has been launched in several countries in Europe, and the Middle East, and is expected to roll out to India, Taiwan and China in 2015.
