Xiaomi has sold 5 million units of the Redmi Note 4 in India since its launch in January. The handset starts at Rs 9,999 and offers a 4100mAh battery and Qualcomm's power-efficient Snapdragon 625 chipset.

Xiaomi's best selling Redmi Note 4 smartphone will be available for purchase today on Flipkart and Mi.com at 12PM today. The Chinese smartphone maker confirmed last week that it has sold 5 million units of Redmi Note 4 since its launch in January. The handset is one of the highest selling smartphones in the country and as part of today's sale, Flipkart is offering additional Rs 1,000 off over regular exchange price.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 chipset. The handset is available in three variants: 2GB and 3GB RAM variants offering 32GB storage, and a 4GB RAM variant offering 64GB internal storage. The smartphone features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus and support for 720p slow-motion video recording. It offers a 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, beautification mode and 1080p video recording.

The phone supports connectivity options like WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and 4G LTE. The handset features an unibody aluminium design and will be available in black, gold and dark grey colour options. The handset is backed by a 4100mAh battery and runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone has started receiving Android Nougat based MIUI 9 update and will be widely available as an over-the-air update in the coming weeks.

The Redmi Note 4 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM variant, while the 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 10,999. The top-end model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 12,999. Read our full review of the phone here.
