Vivo will launch its X21 smartphone with an under display fingerprint sensor tomorrow in India. The company debuted its in-display fingerprint sensor technology with the Vivo Apex concept smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2018 and the feature is now being incorporated in some other Vivo smartphones as well. The Vivo X21 features a 19:9 display and comes with a notch on top. The company is expected to live stream the launch event via its social media channels but has not posted any links yet. We will update the article once the live streaming links are up.

In terms of specifications, the Vivo X21 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC and comes with 6GB RAM, coupled with 128GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded further up to 256GB using a microSD card. Vivo has priced the device at CNY 3,598 (Rs 37,100 approx) in China but it is expected to be priced around the same or perhaps slightly lower in order to compete with recently launched OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 smartphones.

The Vivo X21 sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The company says that the notch on X21 is smaller than the one on the iPhone X. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on FunTouch OS 4.0, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The latest Android P public beta will also be available for X21 customers as it was announced for the device at the Google I/O 2018 developer conference.

In terms of optics, the X21 is equipped with a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with a f/2.4 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, it comes with a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and also features 3D mapping, IR fill light, and 'Face Wake' face unlock feature. The device supports LTE, comes with dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 and is backed by a 3200mAh battery.

The Vivo X21 is already up for pre-bookings from the company's official online store, where one will need to pay Rs 2,000 advance amount for it. One will receive a coupon code worth Rs 2,000 via email after they pay the advance amount and this coupon is to be applied when one is buying the device on May 29, along with the balance amount. Those who pre-book the handset will also get to avail some special offers. You can read in-depth about it here.
