HIGHLIGHTS

Vivo X20 and X20 Plus are premium mid-range smartphones with near bezel-less design and dual rear camera setup. They also sport new 18:9 displays and use Qualcomm's mid-range Snapdragon 660 chipset.

Vivo has announced the launch of X20 and X20 Plus smartphones with near bezel-less design and dual rear camera setup. Both the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus sport a design similar to the company's V7+, which was launched earlier this month in India. The new X20 and X20 Plus now serve as high-end flagship from the company in its home market.

In terms of features, the new X20 and X20 Plus are primarily aimed at consumers looking for bezel-less design and dual camera setup. The Vivo X20 sports a 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The X20 Plus, on the other hand, gets a larger 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with the same 2160 x 1080p resolution. The display offers a taller 18:9 aspect ratio in a thinner bezel-less package.

Vivo X20 and X20 Plus are powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 660 mobile platform meant for premium mid-range smartphones. The standard variant offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, expandable to 256GB via SD card. Both phones get dual rear cameras with one 12MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and another 5MP secondary sensor for creating background blurs. The front camera uses a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a new beautification mode.

Vivo X20 and X20 Plus run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. They also support facial recognition for unlocking. The primary difference between the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus lies in the display size and battery capacity. The X20 is backed by a 3245mAh battery, while X20 Plus houses a 3905mAh battery.

The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus will be available for pre-order starting September and sales start from September 30. The X20 is priced at 2,998 Yuan (around Rs 30,000), while the X20 Plus is priced at 3,498 Yuan (around Rs 35,000). They will be available in gold, rose gold and black colour variants, and Vivo has not shared plans to sell this device outside China.
