Vivo is gearing up for the launch of its next-generation foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in China. The company officially teased the device last week. The company claimed it to be the thinnest foldable smartphone. However, the other details, including the launch timeline, design, and specifications, have been kept under wraps. Now, a tipster has dropped some of the expected key specifications of the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5, suggesting an 8T LTPO display.  Additionally, reports have also revealed some of the details.

Vivo X Fold 5 launch timeline (Expected) 

Han Bo Xiao, Vivo’s Product Manager, has dropped a teaser video of the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5, hinting at an imminent launch in the Chinese market. Although there are no confirmed reports of its arrival in India, reports suggest that the handset may debut alongside the Vivo X200 FE around mid-July.  

Vivo X Fold 5 specifications (Expected)

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the Vivo X Fold 5 may feature an 8T LTPO display with an ultra-high refresh rate and ultra-high resolution. Additionally, the device is tipped to get a TÜV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0 certification, 4500nit local peak brightness, and identical and accurate colours on both outer as well as inner display. 

In terms of other hardware details, the Vivo X Fold 5 is likely to sport an 8.03-inch expansive AMOLED screen and a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover display. Under the hood, the handset may pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In terms of the camera, it may get a triple rear camera unit comprising three 50-megapixel sensors. On the front, it could house dual 32-megapixel sensors on the inner and outer screens. 

Other leaked details include a three-stage Alert Slider, a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Apart from these, the Vivo X Fold 5 is claimed to be the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone, surpassing the Vivo X Fold 3, which weighs 219 grams. Though the exact weight of the device isn’t revealed yet, a few early leaks suggest that it may weigh 209 grams and measure 4.3mm when unfolded. The handset is rumoured to have a thickness of 9.33mm when folded. 

Vivo X Fold 5 price (expected) 

The upcoming Vivo X Fold 5 is reportedly priced lower than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which debuted at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB + 512GB configuration.
