Vaio Phone VA-10J with 5-inch HD display, Android 5.0 unveiled

Vaio VA-10J smartphone launched, features a 5-inch HD display, 4G LTE connectivity and runs Android 5.0 out-of-the-box.

VAIO Corporation has launched its first VAIO Phone (VA-10J) in Japan. The Vaio Phone (VA-10J) smartphone will go on sale on 20th March for JPY 51,000 (approximately Rs. 26,350) for the unlocked model and for JPY 4,000 (approximately Rs. 2,070) on a two year contract with Japanese telecom carrier B-mobile.

The Vaio Phone (VA-10J) features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The VA-10J is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. The device supports 1080p video recording. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. The Vaio Phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Connectivity options included in the Vaio Phone (VA-10J) are 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2500mAh non-removable battery that according to company claims delivers 13 hours of talk time and 500 hours of standby time. It comes with inbuilt proximity, Accelerometer, gyroscope and Ambient light sensors. The smartphone has sleek dimensions of 71.3×141.5×7.95mm and weighs 130 grams. The Vaio Phone (VA-10J) will be available in Black colour.

The Vaio Phone (VA-10J) supports a similar design and specifications as the Panasonic Eluga U2 unveiled last month in Taiwan at TWD 7,990 (approximately Rs. 15,700). No information has been given about the smartphones global release. Read: Sony to exit PC market, sell VAIO brand
