Sony India has announced a price cut of Rs 2,000 on the Xperia XA1 Ultra and XA1 smartphones. The Xperia XA1 Ultra will now be available for Rs 27,990 as opposed to its previous retail price of Rs 29,990. The Xperia XA1, which was earlier priced at Rs 19,990 will now be available at Rs 17,990. The company says these revised prices are effective starting September 19 in India.

In terms of features, both Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra feature the company's borderless design which eliminates bezels on the side of the display. Both handsets are powered by an Octa-core Helio P20 chipset and are about 8mm thick. The Xperia XA1 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the Xperia XA1 Ultra improves the memory stack to 4GB RAM and 64B internal storage.

As the name implies, the Xperia XA1 Ultra sports a large 6-inch display with a 1080p resolution, while the Xperia XA1 gets a smaller 5-inch 720p display. Both the models also feature Sony's Exmor based 23MP imaging system with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The Xperia XA1 gets an 8MP autofocus selfie camera, while the Xperia XA1 Ultra features a 16MP selfie shooter with optical image stabilisation and LED flash.

Both Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra support connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 42, GPS, NFC and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat and are scheduled to get an Oreo update. The Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra are backed by a 2300mAh and 2700mAh battery respectively, and will be available in white, black, gold and pink colours.
