Sony Xperia S Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update roll-out hasn’t yet started
Sony Mobile Germany social team confirms their colleagues over in France made a mistake; the upgrade isn't available yet.
Sony Mobile France’s social team at the end of last week had announced it was rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia S. However, Sony Mobile Germany’s social team has clarified their French colleagues had made a mistake and that the update hasn’t started rolling out for the smartphone yet.
The news is likely to disappoint Xperia S users, and they will once again stop all speculation, waiting for an official confirmation.
The Sony Xperia S was launched in February 2012 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread onboard. The phone received ICS update later that year. The company announced that the Xperia S was among the Sony smartphones to receive the Jelly Bean upgrade. However, the exact schedule for the update was never confirmed. Back in April this year, it was rumoured the Jelly Bean update for the Xperia S would be rolling out in May.
