Smart Namo unveiled, a quad-core Android phone dedicated to Narendra Modi
A Narendra Modi-branded Android phone called Smart Namo is in the works. The mobile phone boasts of a 5 inch display, 13 MP camera and a quad core processor.
Narendra Modi fans have come up with a new dual-SIM Android mobile phone dedicated to the Gujarat CM. The smartphone will be called the ‘Smart Namo’ and will have a 5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 2 display, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and a 13MP camera.
The mobile phone line is being worked on by Smart Namo, an independent body formed by Modi fans. According to the official website, the upcoming Android device is the group’s way of showing their dedication to the Gujarat CM. The company states, “Namo stands for Narendra Modi and Next-generation Android Mobile Odyssey.”
The Smart Namo supports dual-SIM capabilities, and will run on an undisclosed version of the Android OS. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU on the Mediatek MT6589T chipset. The phone will be available in four variants, with different amounts of RAM and built-in storage: a) 1 GB RAM 16 GB ROM; b) 2 GB RAM 16 GB ROM; c) 2 GB RAM 32 GB ROM; d) 2 GB RAM 64 GB ROM.
Apart from a 13MP rear camera, the Smart Namo features a 5MP front camera. The Smart Namo is expected to be priced at Rs 16,000 though the launch date of the phone has not been revealed yet.
The company is planning to launch a “Shri Narendra Modi signature edition” variant of the handset, and budget devices starting from Rs 1,000 in the future as well. Check our their Facebook page for regular updates.
This new line of phones come from fans of Mr. Modi that have shown a fondness for Modi merchandise. To put this in perspective, the Akruti Art Gallery in Vadodara holds an annual auction of Modi memorabilia and the proceeds go to charity. The gallery has raised more than 1 billion rupees since 2001 through the auctions.
