Samsung has launched this year's W-Series clamshell flagship smartphone, the W2019, for an expected price of at least 10,000 yuan (approx Rs 1,04,000). The smartphone is currently available in China only and the company is yet to confirm its price. The Samsung W2019 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with 6GB RAM in two storage variants — 128GB and 256GB —  both of which support a microSD card in case a user wants to expand the storage.

Just like its predecessor, the smartphone gets two 4.2-inch Super AMOLED displays, both featuring a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and comes with Bixby support. There is no headphone jack, and the whole package is powered by a 3070mAh battery. In terms of optics, there is a dual camera on the rear with 12 MP sensors each, and the primary sensor has a f/1.5 to f/2.4 intelligent variable aperture. The secondary sensor has a f/2.4 aperture. The phone also features an 8MP front shooter.

The smartphone comes close on the heels of Samsung's foldable smartphone which was showcased at the recently concluded Samsung Developers Conference in San Francisco. The foldable samsung smartphone is expected to be priced at $1770 (approx Rs 1,29,000). Next up could be the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A9 in India. Unveiled last month in Kuala Lumpur, the Galaxy A9 comes with a quad-camera setup on the back with an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens, a regular lens, and a depth sensor, vertically stacked along with a single LED flash.

Further, Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy S10 smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next year. According to Yonhap news agency, a 5G-enabled Galaxy S10 will also launch along with the Samsung foldable smartphone in March. DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung's Mobile Business Division said that the company will manufacture at least one million units of the handset.
