Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16 for the Galaxy S25 series, starting with its home country, South Korea. The update will gradually expand to other markets, including the US, UK, India, and more. However, there are no details available on the exact date.

The update, spotted first by tipster Tarun Vats (@tarunvats33 on X), comes with build number S938NKSU5BYI3/S938NOKR5BYI3/S938NKSU5BYI3 depending on the region. It has a download size of 3.8GB. The update also includes the September 1, 2025, Android security patch for the Galaxy S25 devices. Additionally, changelog comes with automatic call captioning for improved accessibility and Now Brief, a new functionality that offers contextual updates in a snapshot.

Samsung One UI 8: How to download

Users will receive an automatic notification once the update is made available on their device. Those who want to check manually can head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Until now, the stable version of One UI 8 was limited to the company’s latest foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Additionally, the update has also been made available to Samsung S25 FE and some newly launched mid-range phones as well.

Notably, Samsung has not yet revealed the complete list of devices that will get the update this month. However, with the S25 series now getting the update, more S-series and A-series devices are expected to receive the stable rollout soon.

Meanwhile, Samsung has confirmed that One UI 8 Watch will also expand beyond the Galaxy Watch 8 series later this year, though a specific timeline is still awaited.
