Samsung launches Galaxy S3 Mini ‘Value Edition’ smartphone

Samsung has launched a new variant of the Galaxy S3 Mini in Netherlands for €180 (approximately Rs 15,300).

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S3 Mini ‘Value Edition’ in Netherlands. The handset looks similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S3 Mini but has a faster 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs Android v4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini ‘Value Edition’ features a 4.0-inch WVGA screen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The smartphone has 1GB of RAM and comes with an 8GB inbuilt memory which expandable upto 32GB via microSD card.

It has a 5.0 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA (0.3MP) front camera for video chat. The smartphone offers quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, Bluetooth v3.0, Wi-Fi hotspot and GPS with A-GPS connectivity. It comes with inbuilt digital compass, gyroscope, proximity, accelerometer sensors and packs a 1500 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini ‘Value Edition’ has been launched in Netherlands for €180 (approximately Rs 15,300) but no details have been given about whether the smartphone will be launched in other markets as well.

Samsung is also geared up to launch its next flagship smartphone the Galaxy S5 on April 11. The Galaxy S5 was spotted on Saholic.com for Rs 45,500 last week but has since been removed, casting doubt on the smartphones launch date in India. Samsung has also slashed down the price of its former flagship model, Samsung Galaxy S4 to Rs. 30,000 and is also offering attractive buy back schemes.
