Samsung will introduce Galaxy S8 early next year, the successor to S7 and S7 edge like every year. This time, Samsung is expected to introduce Galaxy S8 in two screen sizes with one of the S8 variants getting a 5-inch display like regular S7 and the other device packing a larger 6-inch display.

Earlier rumours indicated that Samsung will drop the regular version of Galaxy S8 and introduce versions with curved display only. Now according to new reports emerging from Samsung's home country, the Korean smartphone is contemplating options of launching Galaxy S8 with two different screen sizes. The larger variant with 6-inch display is likely to be christened S8 Plus and it is likely to have an overall footprint similar to Galaxy Note7.

Samsung is preparing a new design for Galaxy S8 which is expected to feature slimmer bezels than seen before on the Galaxy series. Samsung Galaxy series this year is also likely to drop the home button in favour of an optical fingerprint sensor embedded right into the glass. The report also says Galaxy S8 Plus or Galaxy S8 series in general won't support S Pen functionality. This confirms the previous rumour which suggested that Samsung will actually introduce a new Note smartphone next year.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus and its edge screen variants are expected to be unveiled at a dedicated event in New York in April. The smartphones are expected to advanced Y-OCTA display technology offering nearly 1,000 nits of maximum brightness and also support Viv AI assistant. Samsung is also rumoured to introduce a new feature called 'Beast Mode' which might enhance gaming and VR performance of the device.

A recent analyst report confirmed that Galaxy S8 will cost nearly 15-20 percent more than existing Galaxy S7 range. Samsung is definitely preparing beast of a smartphone but it will have to ensure that the device works well even months after its launch.
