Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature all-screen design and dedicated AI assistant.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is almost here. After the failure of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung's 2017 flagship has a lot to make up for. According to recent reports, Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy S8 at a separate event in New York City. While the device is rumoured to launch in April, a new report claims the date has been set to April 18. Korean site Naver cites industry insiders claiming the smartphone will be released on April 18 and has been delayed due to new design changes.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is reported to come with a new design that completely cuts down on bezels. The display is expected to cover 90 percent of the front of the device and the phone is also expected to drop all physical navigation buttons in favour of soft touch keys. Samsung may also adopt an optical fingerprint reader, which could be embedded directly into the display.
While we have heard rumours of the device in the past, a new leak shows what the phone may actually look like. A new picture posted by Slashleaks shows a Galaxy smartphone with thin bezels and no home button. The picture obtained from China's Weibo could also be a photoshopped version of Galaxy S7 Edge.
Further, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumoured to arrive in 5-inch and 6-inch display variants. It is also likely to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack and the Korean smartphone maker is expected to introduce new wireless earbuds along with the launch of Galaxy S8. Samsung may even pack wireless earbuds with the smartphone in a push towards wireless audio.
