Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have received a price cut of Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000 respectively and will be available for Rs 53,900 and Rs 58,900. The Galaxy A5 (2017) is now priced at Rs 17,990 while Galaxy A7 (2017) is retailing for Rs 20,990.

Samsung Mobile, the leading smartphone maker in the country and worldwide, has announced a price cut on flagship Galaxy S8 series and 2017 Galaxy A series smartphones. On purchase of the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017), Samsung is also offering one-time screen replacement as part of its Never Mind offer. The one-time screen replacement will only be available from September 21 to October 21, 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, the premium flagship smartphones from the Korean smartphone maker will now be available at Rs 53,900 and Rs 58,900 respectively. The smartphones were launched in April at Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 and the company is now revising prices by Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000 on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ respectively.

To recall, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are the first smartphones from Samsung to feature the new Infinity Display design with thin top and bottom bezels. The smartphones feature 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED displays with dual curved edges and Corning Gorilla 5 protection. Both the models are powered by Exynos 8895 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ feature a 12MP rear camera with dual-pixel autofocus, f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The front includes an 8MP shooter with autofocus. The smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat based on company's TouchWiz UI and support additional features like DeX that can turn the smartphone into a PC with additional dock. The smartphone sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and also offers iris scanning technology.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ primarily differ in terms of display size and battery capacity. The Galaxy S8 is backed by a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S8+ gets a larger 3500mAh battery. Both the models are IP68 water and dust resistant and will be available in midnight black, maple gold, orchid grey while Galaxy S8+ is also available in coral blue colour. HDFC Bank Credit Card users get additional Rs 4,000 cashback on purchase of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.

Samsung has also discounted the price of its 2017 Galaxy A series smartphones which borrow some of the features previously available only on its flagships. The Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) is now available for Rs 17,990 and Rs 20,990 respectively. The Galaxy A5 (2017) was previously available for Rs 22,900 while Galaxy A7 (2017) retailed for Rs 25,900. The main features of Galaxy A (2017) series is the IP68 water resistance and improved rear camera setup. The Galaxy A5 (2017) features a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display while Galaxy A7 (2017) gets a larger 5.7-inch display. Both the phones are powered by octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. They also support expandable storage up to 256GB via SD card slot.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) feature 16MP front and rear cameras with f/1.9 aperture and support for 1080p video recording. The Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with 3000mAh battery while Galaxy A7 (2017) packs a 3600mAh battery. The smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat and use the new USB-C port. The discounted smartphones are now available for purchase from Samsung Shop and its retail partners.
