While last year’s models used the same high-end processor worldwide, new leaks suggest the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will return to using different chips depending on where you live. This means some regions might get Samsung’s own new 2 nm processor, while others will receive the latest Qualcomm hardware. This split strategy usually helps the company manage costs and supply, though it often sparks discussions among fans about which version performs better. Samsung Galaxy S26: Design (Expected)

Reports suggest the phone will feature a slimmer and more refined build with smoother, rounded edges to make it easier to hold. Rumours also suggest that the device may boast a premium mix of glass and metal and might maintain durability with IP68 water resistance. The device is also likely to come in fresh colour options like Cobalt Violet and Glacier Silver.

Samsung Galaxy S26: Chipset (Tipped)

Samsung is reportedly planning to bring back the dual-chip approach, as the standard Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are tipped to run on the Exynos 2600 in most global markets, including India and Europe. Meanwhile, the US and other select regions are expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Samsung Galaxy S26: Specs (Expected)

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness is rumoured to reach up to 2,600 nits under bright sunlight. Out of the box, the smartphone is anticipated to run One UI 8.5, a custom skin based on Android 16.

The smartphone may also house a 4,300mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. In addition, the device is said to offer 25W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

In terms of optics, the device could launch with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP primary sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. On the front, it will likely sport a 12MP selfie camera.

The standard Galaxy S26 is also rumoured to be powered by 12GB of RAM, along with up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage options.

Samsung Galaxy S26: Launch Timeline (Expected)

Samsung has not officially announced the release of the devices yet. Reports point out that the devices may get released in the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is scheduled for February 25, 2026. If this timeline holds true, the phones would likely hit store shelves and start shipping to customers by mid-March 2026.

The Galaxy S26 in India is expected to start at Rs 82,999, which is a bit higher than that of the previous model. The price hike is expected because of the current shortage of the AI chips in the market. However, do note that the final price may change depending on launch offers and will only be revealed at the time of launch.
