Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus leaks ahead of official announcement
HIGHLIGHTS

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus is rumoured to be a budget device featuring an 850MHz processor, 1,200mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, 2MP camera and 2.8-inch display.

Even as the media is abuzz with reports of the Galaxy S IV due for MWC 2013, another Samsung device has surfaced on the web ahead of the official announcement. Dubbed as the Galaxy Pocket Plus, the device is expected to launch soon.

SamMobile has published the alleged Galaxy Pocket Plus image, which shows the device isn’t going to be close to the high-end of the smartphone scale but a budget or mid-range one. The image is accompanied with set of specifications of the Pocket Plus.

The rumoured Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus features an 850MHz processor, 1,200mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 2MP camera. The device has a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT display. This phone is expected to run Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich coupled with a customised version of Samsung’s TouchWiz interface.

According to reports on the web, Samsung will be first launching the device in European market in the first half 2013. The device is likely to be officially announced at the forthcoming MWC 2013 event in Barcelona next month.

One of the most anticipated device expected from the Korean company is the Galaxy S IV. According to the latest rumours, the device will have a full HD 4.99-inch display. The S IV will feature a 13MP camera, run Android Jelly Bean and powered by a quad-core Exynos 5440 chip manufactured using 28nm high-K metal gate technology. Other rumours on the Internet suggest that the device will also support the S-Pen – a device that has made its appearance on the Note series of Samsung’s devices.
