Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ launching today in New York: What to expect, price and specs
Samsung Note 10, Note 10+ launch today.
In India, people can watch the livestream at 1.30am on August 8.
Samsung will launch its second flagship series of 2019 phones, the Note 10 and the Note 10+, at an event in New York. The ‘Unpacked’ event will start at 4pm EDT on August 7, which translates to 1.30am IST on August 8. While several rumours and leaks over the past months have already given people an idea of what to expect from these phones, however, we at Digit always advise our readers to wait for the official confirmation from the company.
How to watch livestream, expected price and availability
Those interested can watch the livestream of the event at Samsung.com or the company’s YouTube channel from 1.30am IST tonight. Recently, noted tipster Roland Quandt tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be available at a starting price of Rs $949 (approx Rs 66,000) and the Galaxy Note 10+ may start at $1,099 (approx Rs 76,500). He noted that these prices are for the 256GB variants. Further, it is expected that the phones will be available for purchase on August 22. Unconfirmed reports have suggested that Samsung could launch the Note 10 Series on August 20 in India.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Series expected specifications
As mentioned, Samsung is likely to launch two phones, the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10+. Both the phones are touted to sport a curved Super AMOLED punch-hole display measuring 6.3-inches with a 1440×3040 resolution on the Note 10 and 6.8-inches on the plus variant. The Note 10 series is expected to come in Black, White and Silver colours along with a Red and Pink version. On the back, the phones are expected to feature a triple camera setup and reports have suggested that the plus variant may come with an additional ToF sensor.
Leaked images have hinted at the vertically-aligned camera stack on the top left corner of the phone. This is a major design change because Samsung has stuck to the horizontally-aligned design for a long time now. It has been reported that the Galaxy Note 10 camera will have a 12MP primary camera with dual aperture that stretches to f/1.5, along with a 12MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultra-wide camera.
Under the hood, the phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset in the US and the Exynos 9825 in other markets, including India. This is also a shift in the hardware front because up until now, Samsung has been incorporating the same SoCs in the Galaxy S-Series and Note Series of phones. This will be the first time in recent history that the South Korean giant is going ahead with different Exynos processors in their flagship phones. The Exynos 9825 is manufactured using a 7nm fabrication process and is said to mitigate any limitations in the Exynos 9820 SoC, which powers the Galaxy S10 Series.
The Galaxy Note 10 is likely to ship with up to 12GB LPDDR4 RAM and 1TB UFS 3.0 storage (only in the Note 10 Plus). As for the battery, at least one of the variants of the Galaxy Note 10 could come with a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, with some leaks claiming that the phone could also support up to 45W fast charging.
