HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been spotted on Geekbench before and has already passed the FCC

Samsung has been highly successful with its Galaxy J-series and the series has been helpful in battling against the budget offerings from the likes of Xiaomi and other Chinese smartphone vendors. Now it seems Samsung is on task to refresh the J-series and the budget J3 is likely to get the 2017 treatment first.

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been spotted on Geekbench before and has already passed the FCC. Now, the smartphone has been revealed in press renders by Evan Blass. The device doesn't seem to be getting any new design elements but Samsung has rounded the corners a bit. The front-facing camera is also getting relocated, the only major change this time.

Evan Blass says this is the SM-J327P model and not the SM-J3119, which is commonly known as Galaxy J3 Pro. Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is reported to sport a Snapdragon 430 processor and 2GB of RAM. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based TouchWiz UI.

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) also appeared in TENAA listing revealing the use of 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display. One of the model gets 720p resolution display while the other jumps to a better full HD panel. The J3 (2017) is likely to get combination of 8MP/5MP cameras and 2,600mAh battery.
