Samsung’s Galaxy A-series smartphones have received a good response. After MWC 2015, a trademark filing had revealed Samsung’s plans to add more devices to the A-series. The devices feature a metallic design that gives it a premium look. Earlier reports had suggested that Samsung may launch the Galaxy A8 only in China, but now new reports have surfaced which state that the device will be launched in various markets in Asia and Europe.
According to a recent report by CyberMedia Research Samsung has become the no 1 4G LTE smartphone vendor in India in Q1 2015, replacing Apple. Samsung has grabbed 27 pc stake in 4G device market, followed by Xiaomi which has a 27 pc stake and the third spot has been taken up by Apple which has 17 pc market share. The reason has been attributed to the success of Samsung Galaxy A6, A5 and S6 handsets in the country. Vikrant Singh, analyst at CMR Telecoms Practice, said: "Samsung made a jump from third spot to top spot mainly on account of the launch of new handset models like A5, A6 and S6.”
