Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be unveiled in two weeks' time and the big focus will be around the company's new AI assistant. Samsung has already trademarked the name Bixby for its AI assistant and now the company has published details about the upcoming assistant for the first time.

Samsung's website for Italy has put out a detailed Terms and Conditions page further confirming the features of Bixby. The Privacy Statement mentions that Bixby can "control all operations" of the mobile device. Bixby is officially the replacement for Samsung's S Voice and might be based on the VIV platform.

Samsung's Bixby will compete with Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant in the virtual assistant space. According to rumours, Bixby is likely to feature deep integration with native apps. The Bixby Assistant is also reported to offer visual and text recognition, which could set it apart from other assistants.

Samsung's listing on its Italian website also suggests that Bixby could make its way to the company's existing smartphones and future wearables. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ have already seen multiple leaks in the past revealing the design and edge-to-edge display. The smartphones are expected to launch with Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US, Korea and Chinese markets, while Europe and other Asian markets are likely to get an Exynos variant.
