Those interested can pre-book the Xiaomi Mi A2 on Amazon.in and Mi.com, and the shipping of the smartphones will start August 12. The company has announced that first sale will begin on Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home on August 16.
Xiaomi has now launched the much-awaited Mi A2 Android One smartphone in India. At the launch event which took place just yesterday, the company announced that the pre-booking for the Mi A2 will start on Amazon.in and Mi.com from today (August 9), 12PM onwards. The shipping of these pre-booked Mi A2 units will start from August 12. If you can wait a little, you can purchase the phone from the first sale on Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Home and Mi Preferred Partner Stores starting August 16. Xiaomi has launched only one, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant in India for Rs 16,999, the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant will be unveiled soon, Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director of Xiaomi India, told the media during the launch event. Jio customers can get up to 4.5TB additional data from Reliance Jio and up to Rs 2,200 instant cashback.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. It sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 wrapped in a 7.3 mm thin aluminum chassis. The display is protected by last year’s flagship Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is available in four colour options – Rose Gold, Lake Blue, Black and Gold. there is a fingerprint sensor and a vertically stacked dual-camera setup located on the back of the device. In the camera department, the dual-camera system on the Mi A2 features a primary 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor having 1.25 micron pixels and a secondary 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor for portrait photography. Both the lenses have f/1.75 aperture. There is a 20MP front camera with a Sony IMX376 sensor and Xiaomi's Super Pixel Technology.
The smartphone runs on Android Oreo OS and since it has been launched under Google’s Android One programme, customers will get unlimited high-quality photo storage on Google Cloud, monthly security updates and at least two major OS software updates.
