Apple has officially announced its much-awaited iPhone 17e in India as well as global markets. The Cupertino giant has also launched M4 iPad Air along with the iPhone 17e. The iPhone 17e arrived with the A19 chipset and is aimed at the users who want to experience flagship-level performance without spending much. The device is available in three different colour options. The handset houses a 6.1-inch OLED panel and runs on iOS 26. The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel. The company claims that the device can reach a peak brightness of 1,200 nits when used under bright light. The company has also installed Ceramic Shield 2 to protect the display from accidental scratches and to reduce glare. Other than that, the handset also bags an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The device will run on the latest iOS 26. Under the hood, the smartphone will draw its power from Apple’s A19 chipset, which is built on the advanced 3nm technology.

The device also features a 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine optimised for generative AI models. Furthermore, it also boasts Apple’s C1X cellular modem, which, according to the company, is up to 2x faster than the C1 modem found in the iPhone 16e.
In terms of optics the smartphone houses a 48MP rear camera. The company said that the 48MP Fusion camera system enables an optical-quality 2x telephoto zoom, effectively offering a 2-in-1 camera experience. Furthermore, it also supports 24MP default image capture, night mode, next-generation portrait mode with adjustable focus, smart HDR, and 4K Dolby Vision video recording at up to 60fps.

The device supports fast wired charging via USB-C, allowing it to charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. It also supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W. Additionally, the iPhone 17e includes satellite connectivity features such as Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite, enabling communication even outside cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.

The iPhone is priced at Rs 64,900 in the Indian market for the base 256GB variant, while the 512GB model is available at Rs 84,900. Buyers can choose from three colour options, which are pink, black, and white.
