The Panasonic Eluga U will be competing against the likes of Moto G, Xiaomi Mi3 and Micromax Canvas Knight.

Panasonic has launched its new Android smartphone – Eluga U — in India. Priced at Rs. 18,990, the new Panasonic smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400  processor with 2GB of RAM.

The Panasonic Eluga U comes with a 5-inch 720p display featuring IPS OGS and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and 2MP front-facing camera. The handset has 16GB internal memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD.

For connectivity, the smartphone supports dual-SIM, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. It is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery.

While Panasonic has launched a few budget smartphones, it is also focussing on the mid-range segment. The company recently launched  the P81, an octa-core smartphone featuring 5.5-inch display, 13MP camera and 2500 mAh battery.

At Rs. 18,990, the Panasonic Elugua U will face a tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi Mi3, Moto G and Micromax Canvas Knight.
