Oppo announced its R17 and R17 Pro smartphones back in August and the Oppo R17 goes on sale today in India. The smartphone can be considered a toned down variant of the R17 Pro but most of its specs and features are similar to it. The device features a Corning Gorilla Glass 6-protected display with a waterdrop notch and sports a dual camera on the back. It also supports the company’s VOOC Flash charge fast charging tech but it is not same as the SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology that the R17 Pro gets, which is said to charge the phone from 0 to 40 percent in just 10 minutes.
Oppo R17 specifications
As mentioned earlier, the Oppo R17 features similar specs as the Oppo R17 Pro. It sports a gradient design on the rear panel with glass protection and comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6-protected 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The display sports a “Waterdrop” notch and is said to feature a 91.5-percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the Oppo R17 is equipped with a 10nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC with Adreno 615 GPU. The processor features 2 x 2GHz Kryo 360 cores and 6 x 1.7GHz Kryo 360 cores. The device also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor that is claimed to unlock the phone in 0.41 seconds and it runs on ColorOS 5.2, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In terms of optics, the Oppo R17 features a dual camera setup on the back with a 16MP primary lens with a f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor that enables portrait shots and AI scene recognition. On the front is a 25MP AI camera. The phone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with support for VOOC Flash charge fast charging. The smartphone comes in one variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB memory.
Oppo R17 Price and Launch Offers
The Oppo R17 is priced at Rs 34,990 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and is listed in Ambient Blue and Neon Purple colour models on Amazon.in. For launch offers, Jio users will get to avail up to 3.2TB 4G data and benefits up to Rs 4,900. There are also no-cost EMI options for purchasing the device. Those who buy the phone on EMI using HDFC bank credit and debit card will get an additional 5- and 10-percent discount respectively. Additionally, buyers can avail a one-time screen replacement offer at Rs 990 when they purchase the phone via Appario Retail Pvt Ltd on Amazon, along with Rs 5000 off on Exchange.
