OnePlus has sent out a tweet that hints at the launch of its next handset- the One Plus 2 on June 1. The tweet says that the company is looking to 'shake up the tech industry', and that it feels it is 'time for change'.

Rumors about the successor to the OnePlus One smartphone have been making the rounds for a while. The smartphone will be called the OnePlus 2 and, according to reports, will be based on the Oppo Find 7. It will feature a 5.5-inch 2K Quad HD display. It will have a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, and will come with an integrated fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. The smartphone will feature a 16 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Connectivity options expected in the device include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and NFC support. It will pack a 3300 mAh battery. The device will run on Oxygen OS, OnePlus One’s new ROM based on Android Lollipop. According to reports, the OnePlus 2 will be priced a little higher than the OnePlus One smartphone. The OnePlus One 16 GB variant was launched at Rs 18,999 while the 64GB variant is available at Rs. 21,999.

The OnePlus One smartphone became a global sensation because of its price, less than 50% of most Android flagship phones launched last year with the same features. The OnePlus One has a 5.5 inch display screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It runs Android 4.4 and has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It has 3 GB RAM and 16/64 internal memory. Connectivity options included are WiFi support, Bluetooth, USB and NFC. The smartphone has a 13 MP rear camera with Dual LED flash and 5 MP front camera. It packs a 3100 mAh battery. The company has seen good response in India and has already removed the invitation system model in India and both variants of its OnePlus One are available directly without an invite. The company is also gearing up to launch a lighter, more affordable version of the existing OnePlus One smartphone later this year, according to reports.
