OnePlus One launched in India, is the lowest priced flagship at Rs 21,999
The OnePlus One has finally been launched to India and the company is also going to sell accessories along with it.
The so called '2014 flagship killer', the OnePlus One, has finally been launched in India. The company went with a killer pricing of just Rs. 21,999 for the 64GB Sandstone Black version for a phone that has a specification sheet that would challenge any flagship today. The OnePlus One, and accessories to go with it, will be sold exclusively on Amazon India. OnePlus took a big setback a few days ago, when Micromax landed the exclusive rights to selling CyanogenMod-powered smartphones in the country. This means that even though OnePlus has launched the device with the CyanogenMod 11S ROM, the device won't be supported by CM. So, you won't get automatic OTA updates on the device. OnePlus though has confirmed that it is working on its own operating system, the beta version for which will be available in December, followed by a stable release in February 2015.
Further, OnePlus has announced that the 16 GB model of the device won't be launched in India. The device is also available only on invites, but the company will soon adopt the pre-order system for India. That's not all, OnePlus also announced that India will be the only country to get localised service infrastructure. The company has not yet had this in any of the other 17 countries that the One is being sold in. The service infrastructure will include both walk-in and phone support services.
As mentioned above, OnePlus will also be selling its accessories on Amazon. These will include the Silver Bullet Earphones, Bamboo StyleSwap Cover and Flip Cover. In addition, a Clear Case, Protective Case, Screen Protector and JBL E1+ Earphones will also be available soon. You will find links to other information about the device and our review throughout this story and if you're wondering how to get an invite for the OnePlus One, then read this.
