The OnePlus 9 series is rumoured to launch in mid-March 2021 and some details about the rumoured third phone in the lineup have just been leaked. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are expected to be joined by a third phone called OnePlus 9 Lite, according to the latest report. While the launch is still a few months away, it has not stopped the rumour mill from digging up everything related to the upcoming OnePlus phones including a new smartwatch that’s in development.
According to a report by Android Central that cites insider source, OnePlus 9 Lite is the name of the third OnePlus phone in the upcoming series, and it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor instead of the Snapdragon 888. This places the OnePlus 9 Lite between the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus Nord and the company could be targeting the sub-Rs 40,000 price range.
Previous reports have also indicated that the company is looking to launch a third phone in its upcoming series and could be called the OnePlus 9E. This phone may share a lot of its feature set with the OnePlus 8T as it was just launched in November with Snapdragon 865 SoC. We’ll likely see a high-refresh-rate display along with triple or quad camera array and a fast-charging battery.
Not much is currently known about this rumoured third smartphone in the OnePlus 9 series except its name that could likely be OnePlus 9 Lite. Nevertheless, we do has some leaked information around the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, courtesy of multiple leaks including CAD renders and pre-production unit.
The OnePlus 9 could feature a 6.55-inch display while the Pro version is rumoured to have a bigger 6.7-inch screen. Both phones will likely support 120Hz refresh rate and have a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera upfront.
OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and could support 65W fast charging out-of-the-box that debuted with the OnePlus 8T.
OnePlus 9 is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with OIS support.
