OnePlus India is teasing the new ‘Thunder Purple’ colour variant of the OnePlus 6T via its Twitter account.

The OnePlus 6T (review) was launched on October 30 in India and same as the OnePlus 6, the company has started releasing new variants of the new phone. The ‘Thunder Purple’ colour variant of the OnePlus 6T was made official in China last week and it could launch in India soon since the company is teasing the new colour variant via its official India Twitter handle. The new OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple features a purple hue on the rear panel which fades to black towards the top. The OnePlus 6T was initially launched in Midnight Black and Mirror Black colour models. 

The new colour variant of the phone was initially spotted a couple of weeks ago on the OnePlus Support Website. The device was also spotted on an Amazon listing and a couple of hours later, the company itself made the new colour variant of the OnePlus 6T official in China. The new variant sports the same specifications and comes with 8GB RAM, coupled with 128GB of internal storage.

To recall, the OnePlus 6T features almost the same internals as the OnePlus 6, save the cosmetic changes. It features a bigger 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The OnePlus 6T runs on OxygenOS 9.0.2, which is based upon Android 9.0 Pie and is backed by a bigger 3700 mAh battery. The company claims that the larger battery delivers 23 percent more runtime than OnePlus 6’s 3300mAh unit.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus 6T comes equipped with a 16MP Sony IMX 519 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and a 1.12-pixel pitch, which is paired with a 20MP Sony IMX376K sensor that measures the depth of field. On the front, it features a 16MP sensor for selfies. Both, the rear and the front cameras come with OIS and EIS for stabilisation. This time, OnePlus has added a a dedicated ‘Nightscape’ mode for low-light photography.
