Oppo U3 octa-core Android 4.4 smartphone launched in China

Oppo U3 launched, features an octa-core processor, dual SIM and Android 4.4 OS.

The Oppo U3 smartphone, with a 5.9 inch display and Android 4.4, has been launched in China. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched the device without any pricing information or global launch date.

The Oppo U3 smartphone has a 5.9-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has a 1.7GHz octa-core SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4 OS with ColourOS 2.0.1 UI on top. It has 16GB of in-built storage expandable via microSD cards up to 128GB.

The Oppo U3 has a 13MP Sony IMX124 sensor and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery that, according to the company, can be charged up to 75 percent in 30 minutes with the help of Oppo's VOOC fast-charging technology. The Oppo U3 will be launched in Black and White colours.

Last week, Oppo launched the Mirror 3 and Oppo R1C smartphones in China. The Oppo R1C shares almost the same features as the Oppo U3 and could be priced the same according to reports. The R1C costs CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,000).

Oppo launched the R5 last month in India for Rs. 29,990. The smartphone has a 5.2-inch AMOLED full HD display, a 13MP rear camera with a Sony EXMOR sensor and 5MP front camera for taking selfies. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat along with custom ColorOS 2.0. Connectivity options included in the Oppo R5 smartphone are 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB. It is backed by a 2000 mAh battery.
