Nokia has confirmed a product launch conference on July 11 in China. Going by the recent rumours and reports, the company is speculated to either launch the rumoured Nokia 5.1 Plus or the Nokia X6 globally at the event. However, it’s all but confirmed by the company’s post on Weibo that the upcoming device will be from the Nokia X series. A previous report also tipped at the same, where a leaked poster of the Nokia 5.1 Plus (or the Nokia X5) revealed July 11 as its launch date and tipped that it could be priced starting at CNY 799 (Rs 8,288 approx) for the 32GB variant and CNY 999 (Rs 10,363 approx) for the 64GB model.
The leaked poster was spotted on Baidu and it is in line with a previous render. Similar to the Nokia X6, the Nokia X5 is also expected to feature a notch on top of the display. The device was also recently spotted on TENAA and the listing suggests that it might be powered by a Snapdragon 600-series chip or the Helio P60 SoC. It is speculated to launch with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, coupled with either 32GB or 64GB of expandable internal storage. It will reportedly feature a 5.86-inch screen with a 720 x 1520p resolution and could be equipped with a 13MP + 5MP rear camera. On the front, it might feature an 8MP sensor, which is housed within the notch. It could be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Baidu post also reveals that Nokia might be working on two more smartphones, one of which could be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC, while another one could be running on the Snapdragon 845 SoC. An earlier report also stated that the company is working on a smartphone codenamed ‘Phoenix’, which comes with a Snapdragon 710 SoC. The new report says that the handset might be launched in the third quarter. As for the Snapdragon 845 powered Nokia smartphone, the device is expected to launch with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
