While all will probably be revealed at the Nokia World event tomorrow, a lot of reports about the rumoured Lumia 920 with PureView handset are doing the rounds of the internet.
According to a report by The Verge, the Windows Phone 8-based Nokia Lumia 920 with PureView will come with only an 8MP camera. The details are scarce – the Lumia 920 might very well have a large sensor like the original Nokia 808 PureView (41MP), and produce an effective 8MP image, with PureView technology (condensing adjacent pixels into one to make a smaller, ultra-sharp image).
This could also mean that the Lumia 920’s camera may not be allowed to take higher resolution images, like the 808 PureView, which gave users the option of the full 38MP effective images, apart from 8MP effective. Other speculation has it that the Lumia 920 features an 8MP camera that incorporates some of the other PureView technology introduced with the Nokia 808, such as image stabliization, and an improved camera app.
Other speculated features of the Lumia 920 with PureView include inductive ‘wireless charging with standards support’, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch HD display, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, and 32GB of built-in storage.
Taking a closer look at the leaked wireless charging information, we see it will use a charging pad (image below), and apparently support the widely-used Qi wireless power standard. An image of a mystery Bluetooth headset device has also been leaked (further below).
Tomorrow’s Nokia-Microsoft event is expected to showcase the Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 820 as well, a device codenamed Arrow. In the meanwhile, since we first heard of the event, reports of a successor to the Lumia 610, a low-cost Windows Phone 7.8-based handset codenamed Glory have also made their way to the internet.
