Nokia 6 will finally be available for purchase today at 12 noon exclusively on Amazon India. The handset was first announced in January and was officially introduced for the Indian market alongside the offline selling Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 in June.
The mid-range smartphone HMD Global will only be available to those who have pre-registered for the sale. Amazon India had started the registration for the Nokia 6 on July 14 and it claimed to have received over 1 million registrations. Nokia 6 buyers will get Rs 1,000 cash back on purchasing the device using their Amazon Pay balance. The e-commerce giant is also offering 80 percent off on Kindle eBooks when they sign in to the Kindle app. Other offers include 45GB additional data for 5 months from Vodafone and Rs 2,500 off on MakeMyTrip.
The Nokia 6 features a metal unibody design and is built from a single piece of aluminium. The handset sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning's Gorilla Glass on top and a sunlight readability mode. The Nokia 6 is available with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage further expandable up to 128GB via a SD card slot. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 platform. The Nokia 6 sports a 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detect autofocus and dual tone flash. The front camera uses an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view. The handset supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and LTE with download speeds up to 150Mbps.
HMD Global says that the Nokia 6 is not about its hardware specifications, but rather the seamless integration of hardware and software. The device runs stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat and should be getting Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming months. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and houses a front-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Nokia 6 will be available in matte black, tempered blue and silver colour options and is priced at Rs 14,999.
