Nokia 4 with Snapdragon 450 SoC to be unveiled at MWC 2018: Report

The Nokia 4 was first spotted in an APK teardown of the Nokia camera app and a new report suggests that it could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and launch alongside the Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus at the event.

HMD Global is all set to launch its 2018 lineup of Nokia smartphones at MWC 2018. Going by various rumours and leaks, the company is expected to unveil the Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco at the event. However, a new report by NokiaPowerUser speculates that the company might also launch a handset called the Nokia 4 at MWC. The reference to the Nokia 4 was first discovered in a Nokia camera app apk teardown. The report suggests that the company could halt production of the existing Nokia 3 and it could be replaced by the Nokia 4. No other specifications of the Nokia 4 have surfaced yet, except that it could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and might launch alongside the above mentioned mobile phones at the MWC event. 

The Nokia 7 Plus was also first spotted in the Nokia camera app teardown and was recently leaked in images. It is tipped to feature a thin-bezel design and sport an 18:9 display aspect ratio. The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage and could come with a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. 

A previous report tips at a 12MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup on the the Nokia 7 Plus. It might come with a 16MP front facing sensor. The handset is speculated to be powered by a 3000mAh battery and and come with Quick Charge support and a USB Type-C port.

The Nokia 7 Plus could be launched alongside the Nokia 1, which is expected to be an entry-level smartphone with an IPS display of unknown size and a 1280 x 720 resolution. It’s rumoured to be powered by a MediaTek chipset and 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB ROM. The device could launch running on Android Oreo (Go Edition), the OS specifically designed for smartphones with under 1GB RAM. You can read more about the mobile phone here.
