New Asus ZenFone variant with Snapdragon 410 spotted on TENAA

A new Asus ZenFone variant with 5-inch HD display, 64-bit quad core processor and Android 5.0 spotted on TENAA. Specs point at Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 inside.

A new Asus handset with the model number of Z00EDB has been certified by Chinese regulatory authority TENAA. The pricing and availability of the Asus handset is not revealed yet.

The new ZenFone model has a 5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The listing reveals a 64-bit SoC which coud be Snapdragon 410, a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and a Mail GPU. The handset has 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM long with 16 GB internal memory expandable via microSD card slot up to 32 GB. It has an 8 MP primary camera with HDR mode and two LED flash lozenges on the back as well as a 5 MP secondary camera. The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Connectivity options included in the new ZenFone variant are dual-SIM with dual standby functionality, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support. It has inbuilt G-Sensor, Gravity sensor, Proximity sensor and Light sensor. The listing reveals that the handset will have a metal build and will be available in black, white, red, blue, purple, gold and silver colors. Since the phone has been spotted on TENAA an official announcement from Asus should be coming soon.

Asus recently launched the ZenFone 2 variants in India priced between Rs 12,999 to Rs 23,000. The smartphone has been launched in 4 variants and will be sold exclusively via ecommerce retailer flipkart.com. All the ZenFone 2 smartphones come with dual-SIM, 4G support and run Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom ZenUI on top. The 4 GB variant of the Zenfone 2 with 2.3 GHz processor and 32 GB of storage is priced at Rs. 19,999 while the flagship Zenfone 2 with 2.3 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory is priced at Rs. 22,999. The Zenfone 2 with a 1.8 GHz processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 12,999, and another Zenfone 2 variant with 2 GB RAM and Full HD display is priced at Rs. 14,999. The smartphone maker has also launched a wide range of accessories for the Zenfone 2. The handsets will rival devices like the Moto G, OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi 4i.
