MWC 2014: Huawei announces the Ascend G6 and two new tablets

Huawei has kicked off the Mobile World Congress by announcing the new Ascend G6. It has also released the MediaPad X1 and MediaPad M1 tablets. All of these devices support 4G LTE connectivity.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has announced two new Android running tablets called the MediaPad X1 and MediaPad M1. The company made the announcement at the Mobile World Congress which has started in Barcelona today. 

The MediaPad X1 comes with a 7-inch, 1920×1200 full HD display and runs on a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. It has 16GB of internal space, 4G LTE connectivity, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera and a chunky 5,000mAh battery which the company claims will last for five full days of continuous use. The tablet has one of the slimmest designs with a thickness of 7.81mm and runs on Android 4.2 with Emotion UI 2.0.

The MediaPad M1 is a slightly larger 8-inch tablet with a 1280×800 pixel HD IPS display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 4G LTE, a 5MP rear and 1MP front camera, and a 4,800mAh battery. The MediaPad M1 comes with dual front-facing speakers and the design looks quite similar to the HTC One Max.

Huawei has also announced a new smartphone called the Ascend G6, which is again a 4G LTE enabled smartphone. It has a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, a 4.5 inch display with a 960×540 pixel resolution, and a 2000mAh battery.

All the devices are expected to be launched in the month of April and their non-4G versions will be announced in the first quarter of 2014 with no information whether they will be launched in India.
