Micromax has launched the Canvas Hue 2, a new smartphone under its Canvas-series. The smartphone is now available to buy accross e-commerce and retail stores in India for Rs. 11,736.

The Micromax Canvas Hue 2 is the successor to the Canvas Hue smartphone launched in January this year. The Canvas Hue 2 (A316) has a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It has a 1.7 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 2 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot. Connectivity options included in the smartphone are dual-SIM with dual standby, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, micro-USB and Bluetooth support. The Canvas Hue 2 has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a secondary 5 MP front-facing camera for clicking selfies. The dual-SIM device comes with an inbuilt accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery which, according to the company, delivers up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 205 hours of standby time. The handset runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The Canvas Hue 2 will compete with devices like the Meizu M1 Note, Moto G (Gen 2) and Huawei Honor 4X.

Earlier this month, Micromax had launched the Canvas Knight 2 4G smartphone at Rs. 16,299. The handset is the successor to the Canvas Knight smartphone launched last year. It features a 5-inch 720p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and runs Android 5.0. It has a 13 MP autofocus primary camera with Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and a Largan 5P lens as well as a 5MP front-facing camera. It comes with Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 audio technology for sound clarity. The smartphone is backed by a 2260 mAh battery. The smartphone maker has preloaded the device with popular apps including an Apps Center, Newshunt, Quikr, Snapdeal, SwiftKey and Hotstar. Micromax has also tied up with Airtel to offer a free 4G Airtel SIM with the new phone.
