LG unveils the UX 4.0 user interface ahead of G4 launch
LG announces the new UX 4.0 UI, will debut on the LG G4 on April 28.
LG has confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone G4 will ship with the new LG UX 4.0 user interface. The company has already sent press invites for an event on April 28th where it is expected to unveil the LG G4.
LG recently posted a teaser video showing off the new user interface for the G4 and has also confirmed that it will be the first smartphone with the new custom UI. LG says that the latest update will bring a more “personalized user experience” The LG UX 4.0 is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a highly customizable yet simple interface.
LG has added an Expert Mode in the camera interface which according to company claims delivers DSLR-level professional quality images and will “impress even the most experienced photographer.” The Quick Shot feature allows users to capture a photo by double clicking the volume button even if the phone is locked. A new feature in gallery allows users to create event-specific photo albums.
The app has a new Smart Alerts feature, which understands the usage pattern to provide customised notifications, including weather information, etc. Other new features included are a Smart Board which collects information from various apps like calendar and health at one place in a widget form. It also has a new 'Ring ID' feature to assign separate ringtones for the different contacts.
LG states in its official blog, "LG UX 4.0 is a simple and intuitive UX to everyone, as well as easy-to-use, features that provide a high level of functionality as a specialised unit through the user settings."
