LG Optimus Sol announced, an affordable 1GHz phone with Ultra AMOLED display

LG has officially announced the Optimus Sol smartphone, featuring the company’s Ultra AMOLED display that’s been designed for better sunlight legibility. While no price has been revealed yet, LG describes it as a “no-nonsense” device, and “the most affordable 1GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display.”

The LG Optimus Sol’s display apparently features a “two-fold advanced reflection rate” for less image quality degradation. The Gingerbread phone comes with a 1,500 mAh battery and a new power management system that supposedly delivers increased battery life. The Optimus Sol is also relatively thin, with its width measuring in at 9.8mm.

The Optimus Sol, preceded by its pricing details, will launch in Europe in mid-September. For now, no official plans of bringing it to India have been revealed, but we’re hopeful it will make its appearance soon after.
