Lenovo Moto G5 launching exclusively on Amazon India today
HIGHLIGHTS

Moto G5 and G5 Plus were announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Moto G5 is expected to be a direct competitor to Xiaomi's best-selling smartphone, the Redmi Note 4.

Moto G5, the smaller sibling of the G5 Plus, will be officially announced in India today. Lenovo is set to launch the Moto G5 exclusively on Amazon India at an event in New Delhi. The event is scheduled to start at 12.15PM and we can expect the device to be a direct competitor to the Redmi Note 4 in terms of pricing.

Lenovo had announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at the Mobile World Congress in February and the company launched the G5 Plus in India last month. To recall, Moto G5 features the same all-metal unibody design like the G5 Plus and sports a 5-inch full HD display. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset and the graphics duty is taken care of by an Adreno 505 GPU. The handset was announced in two storage options: 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage.

The major difference between the G5 and G5 Plus is in the camera department. The Moto G5 features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The front camera is a 5MP unit with f/2.2 aperture. Moto G5 Plus, on the other hand, sports a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus. In our review, we noted that "G5 Plus produces impressive contrast and dynamic range, taking photos that other phones in its category can't."

Moto G5 sports a front-mounted fingerprint scanner with support for Android navigation gestures. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat with support for Moto Actions. The G5 houses a 2800mAh non-removable battery that supports turbo charging. The device was officially announced in grey and gold colour options but a sapphire blue colour variant was recently spotted. However, it is not clear whether Lenovo plans to bring that to India.
